Pick up bed interchange

I have a single cab shortbed truck with dual tanks and I am looking to purchase a flareside bed off a extended cab truck. Will it fit and what do I do about the tanks? I have never even used my rear tank ever but will it matchup to the gas lid and I an just trash the side tank or what?

It is an hour away, so should I find a trailer or will it maybe fit in the current bed of my truck? Will three people, my girlfriend, friend and I be able to lift the bed easily enough?

as long as your truck isnt lowered you can make a bracket in the fenderwell to hold the filler neck might be a little harder to fill but is doable
Parts of the bed are the same width as the stock bed so no it wont fit inside i would suggest a trailer

the beds will interchange if both are short boxes, the big difference is in the filler necks, they are different but can be made to fit, the section at the door and the doors themselve are different the rear bumpers are way different and will not interchange, even the brackets are different,if you can`t get the bumper, you`ll need a roll-pan,the tailgates are also different.if you can find the running boards, they are a big help as the box sits lower than the can on a step side....hope this helps...

People have transported beds by flipping them over on to the transport truck.

Since your Flareside bed is too narrow you could support the bed upsidedown

on 4x4s.

A trailer is good too.
