Bolt & nut sizes
In the Ford Master Parts exploded view parts diagrams, when bolt & nut part numbers are given, where in the catalogue does one find the sizes corresponding to each bolt part number?
Is there a chart or table with the numbers and the corresponding sizes? If so , what is the Section and page number?
Thx for the assistance. Jeff
The only way to look them up individually to get the specs, is if you have a Standard Parts Catalog. I have one printed in 2000, but it basically covers 1980/2000, there are only 500 or so numbers listed for the 1940's/70's.
I've looked for 5 years for one printed in the 1970's that would cover back to the 1940's, found nothing, not even from the literature dealers or on ebay.
When dealers began using computers, many tossed the paper and microfiche catalogs in the trash, as they had become redundant.

* Illustration Section 90, Page 4: Look at 9275, fuel tank sending unit basic number, notice 370050-S screws / Text, Section 92, 9275 sending units, look at the bottom of page 7:
370050-S2 .. Screw (fuel gauge to fuel tank) No. 10 -32 x .50" hex head slotted. Notice that in the text there's an additional number for the suffix (2). Typical of Ford, pics may not have it listed.
Pay no attention to the jazz in parentheses, it refers to a specific parts bin location only.

Having too much fun with the 4WD.
Here's a possible reference, although I'm not sure how to order it.

I found a reference to the hex nut shown, part no. is 34444S and it is listed as 3/8-16 hex collar-lock in silver-cad finish. Found that on the AMK site, but no luck on bolts.
However, knowing nut size & thread, I now only need bolt type and length.
Any ideas? Thx. Jeff

The 376058s is a 3/8 16 x 1 1/2" bolt. normal head with shoulder
the 358672s is a 3/8 16 x 1 1/4" bolt (lead point style) which means it has no threads at the beginning for helping it get started.
the 34444s nut is a lock nut.
I have pictures of them all here somewhere . . . I took pics of each nut and bolt on the entire truck and matched them up with the Parts Book. Took a lot of time.

Edit: LOL! While I was looking them up TA455 beat me to it..

I have a dedicated wooden cabinet that holds all my nuts, bolts & hardware. All sorted by size, type etc
Hope you'll consider publishing. Thx. Jeff
And remember what I said, in the illustration section, the standard part number may not show the complete suffix. The text section or a Standard Parts Catalog is needed to verify.
These 2 standard parts are listed with their complete suffixes in: Text, Section 60.7 .. Pages 3 & 4.
If looking for standard parts on parts locator sites like PartsVoice.com, if the part number is wrong, all you'll get is: "Unable to find any dealers with parts requested" or a zero.
