Just ten minutes ago on my way to class I was accelerating somewhat slowly and at about 20-25 mph the truck started to lurch then hesitate and lurch and so on until i got to about 28-30 mph then again at about 32-35 mph. I drove it a bit longer to see if it would continue and it slowly faded away the more times I accelerated. I just had my aod trans rebuilt less than a month ago. can anybody help me out?
You don't need a computer. Did you go to the link Steve posted? All you need is a piece of wire or a paperclip (and a piece of paper and pencil to write down the codes).
Wow thats alot of info it may take me a while to let you guys know if i got it to work. If I mess up can I really mess up my truck and if I do mess up how do I fix it?
You can't hurt it unless you ground or short something, so go for it - Ford computers are tough. Basically, warm up the engine, turn it off, put in the jumper wire, turn the key to RUN, and watch the engine light (CEL or MIL).
im having the exact same problem, but have yet to pull the codes because the ses light never came on, it happened after i had a new 4.9 installed, and after i had a problem with the eec relay and fuel pump relay wich turned out to be a harness problem, i feel a connection here.... either the harness is whacked or i need a new mechanic, ill let ya know what happens when i get the codes
