Okay folks I am stumped! I have an '87 Ford F-250, 302 fuel injected 5 speed. Truck has always ran like a racecar until the other day. It has dual tanks, both were low and I pulled up onto a small grade and let it sit there for a day or so. Started it up after that time and it was missing out like crazy. I changed the plugs, cap and rotor button, miss got better but it doesn't want to idle, feels like it has lost some power, and it backfires upon slowing down. Starts fine, runs, but it just doesn't feel right. The day it started missing out I let it sit all day at work, then when I left work it still ran bad for a few miles then cleaned up to "normal good running". Next day I started it and back to the same. Then I changed the plugs and all. It does have an exhaust leak from the drivers side header, what do you guys think?!? Its wearing me out, I need help bad! I did check vacuum lines to the best of my ability also, one of the larger lines from the top of the intake was gone and just had a piece of rubber left. I capped it off to be safe but I don't know. Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post, just aggravated.
My thought is the fuel mixture isn't right. I bet you are getting enough supply but maybe the TPS is bad? Have you pulled codes? Does the check engine light come on?
If you are going to pull the codes, I'd pull them, erase them, drive the vehicle again, and pull the codes to see if you have the same ones.
Thanks for the info! Check engine light does come on, I am not sure on how to pull the codes on my truck? Also I did change frame mounted fuel filter and it changed nothing. Thanks!

If you aren't sure how to get the codes then I'm guessing you also don't have a code reader. Here's how to pull codes without a reader - http://oldfuelinjection.com/?p=13
