I've tryed to find info on low speed drive line vibration...not had much luck...I'm sure I've seem some posts about this condition somewhere. Empty...no problem...towing...big time vibration. Any up grades, solutions, ideas? I pull a 5-W that weights about 11,000 lb with about 1500 lb or so pin wt. Vibration is really bad in 1st and 2nd. thanks in advance
Air bags is the easiest solution. The low speed vibration is caused by the driveline angle change when you put the weight of the fifth wheel pin on the truck.
I had it on my 2006 F-350 and thought a 2011 F-450 would solve the problem, but I ended up bagging the F-450 as well, although the problem wasn't near as bad. I've got over 4,000 lbs of pin weight.
I would agree with Greg on the drive line angle.
My 350 CC SB never did it stock with about the same spec 5th wheel as yours. BUT since I lifed it I have the vibration quite bad.
There should be some threads on here about it, I remember reading quite a bit about it. Some had it and some did not. I don`t know if it`s a wheel base thing or what.
