2001 f250 with factory tow setup. the passanger side stop/turn light on the trailer stopped working. i checked the voltage and while flashing, or with the brake on, it peaks at like .8~ volts
i traced this, green wire, past the trailer to the factory ford plug where it's the same problem. followed that to the plug by the back of the truck, still the same problem. then, i think it goes to the 3 plugs under the fuse box? i gotta check there next (got dark)
anybody else have this problem? it seems like corrosion, or a worn threw wire maybe, but i didnt see the loom worn or pinched. i know my ranger had a wire in the main loom wear threw for the keep alive memory so it would delete the monitors every time it shut off... that was fun looking for. im thinking its the same thing here, just getting frustrated.
ok, talked to my trailer guy. There's some common problems with corrosion on the plug in front of the cab, and with the factory relays. I'm gonna check and see...
Turns out, the retainer pin for the ramp clip'd the stop turn wire, that shorted a fuse for that side. The fuse wasn't totally blown (why it was still getting 1v). Just goes to show you, always check ur fuses first...
