Does it blow the fuse when the trailer is not hooked up? Check the circuit with a ohm meter. With the fuse removed you should have an open circuit from the fuse to the trailer plug. You can check this from the trailer plug looking forward to the fuse block. This should show an "open" circuit, (no ohms to ground) if you show a low ohm reading, the wire is shorted between the fuse block and the trailer plug.
If the problem is on the truck, check the connection inside the trailer plug first.
If the problem is on the trailer. It is most likely a chaffed trailer wire, or a bad trailer light assy. When doing an ohm check on the trailer make sure you remove the lightbulb or you will "see" a short thru the bulb.
Good luck!
