Keith, The tech. did check out the new speed sensor and said it was ok. He said that the control unit also feeds the speedometer I ask if there was a way that you can bypass the ABS system but he did'nt know how or if it could be done. Because all trucks don't have ABS installed. I now have a query into Ford to see what can be done. Just don't have a spare $1000.00 to have them fix it when the truck only has 21000 miles on it. I'll keep you in the loop.
Well if it is a reputable shop and you are satisfied that the ABS unit will do the trick then off to the junk yards for you. Many now have web search capability.
You will need to find out how many different vehicles and what years have the same or similar control unit.
Sorry to hear the diagnosis... getting close to the 36K point with this truck and only 24 months old...maybe I need to rethink my Ford ESP decision and reconsider the costs..
I had a 2002 F-250 SD CC and it had the ABS light issue and flashing OD light on the stalk. Mine turned out (after about 6 warranty visits) to be a ground wire.
The dealer service guy said they had a bulletin about it.
