The other day i pulled my cluster out to change a burnt out bulb and when i plugged it back in the speedo went up to the max. Is this normal i havent driven the truck yet as im waiting on my fuel pump in the mail. does it reset itself?
edit: the truck is a 95 f250 diesel site still wont let me have sig
Make sure the select - reset buttons on either side of the speedo aren't pushed in and or binding. Other than that maybe a connection problem when reinstalling.

ill double check connections and the buttons tommorow thanks
Have you reconnected the battery and turned on the ignition yet? That pointed is just held on the peg by gravity when the ignition is off. If you turned the cluster upside down wile you were installing it the needle may have flopped over to the max. You might try turning the ignition on and see if it resets itself on the peg at 0. If not, I would take it out again, turn it over to set the needle on the peg at 0 and try it again and see what happens.
yeah i kinda figured connecting the battery and cycling the ignition might help it didnt. i probably did turn it upside down at some point. that thing was a bugger to get in with that auto indicator in the way. maybe i should remove the cover and put the needle back to zero?
I would just turn it over and return it to zero then plug it back in and see if it works or not. I wouldn't open it and move the needle manually if you can avoid it.

it has happened to me a few time just do what he said and all should be good
A guy told me once that if you turn the gauge cluster over or face down, it would mess up the LED odometer screen. I've never had this happen, and I don't know if it's true, but let us know if it does. I've got some out and they have been moved all over the shop in every position possible, but I haven't reinstalled any of them to see if they work.
