I tried posting this question under another forum and its not getting much attention so I thought I would try it here and see if anyone knows. I have a question about the MAC air intakes, I was wondering if anyone knows if the one for a 99 f150 5.4L is a true cold air intake, meaning does it come with a sealed box that mounts to the the hole in the fender where the stock one goes rather then just sucking air in from the engine bay. I have an Airaid intake that just sucks the warm air from the engine bay and I want to get a true cold air intake, I know that Volant makes one but they are pretty expencive. I know in the pic for the mac cold air intake it doesn't show that it has a box that mounts to the wheel well but i know that some of the mac intakes do so I was thinking they may have just used a generic pic for it. If anyone knows for sure let me know. Thanks.
I'm not sure if the model you're talking about is a true cold air unit or not.The one I got for my 2000 F150 is not.
Also the filter is letting too much dust in the tube.I took my problem to MAC but I am still awating a response.I posted the problem on the Garage Talk forum over there twice. The first post never showed up...we'll see if the second does.
