To keep the the lower cladding or not?

What is everybody's opinion on the lower cladding that wraps around the excursion? Also, i'm from Canada, the roads here are salted beyond belief in the winter time, i'm afraid once i removed the cladding there maybe rust and stuff from the trapped moisture and salt. If this the case, whats the easiest way to remove the cladding while leaving as much of the "material" behind as possible?

Thanks in advance

Haha no don't get me wrong, i have my share of rust, but nothing too bad. I just got the X a couple months ago and am still "making it mine" which is going to include taking care of all the rust. The body of the truck is fairly rust free, minus a couple spots the paint chipped away, thats what scares me about taking the cladding off though. I'm not sure what lies underneath, i'm actually terrified that if i take the cladding off i'm getting into quite the rust restoration project.

Trust me, you don't want to see what's under it. Mine has been a northern truck for 300,000 miles. I have some of the typical rust starting but, I left mine alone because I have a friend who removed his. We pulled off the drivers door first and found lots of blistering paint and rust, same with the rest of the truck. Once salt gets trapped behiend it it has really no place to go.

I removed mine but I'm in Florida so I only had a lot of dirt lol.

Depends on the color though. Some trucks it looks good some I like it Better without. I really like it both ways to be honest. I love white on tan though.

Edit...damn I'm stupid the truck is in ur avatar lol.

Hmm, okay, i'm going to keep mine on for now then, until funds allow for a bodyshop visit/repaint ...I've been thinking of changing the color to black and getting the the bottom where the cladding would be if i kept it camo, still gotta beat the idea around a little bit though. Thanks for the advice guys, its settled, it stays till the future

That is my thought. If you did pull it off you could always take care of the rust now and just get the lower areas Line-X coated in a tan. That would look good in my book.
