Transmission sensor glitch? Help please.
I was driving along the other day after the first real rain of the season here in Washington and hit a huge puddle. My transmission temp gauge immediately went to "H" and the "check gauge" light came on. My tow/haul light on my column started blinking as well. My aftermarket gauge cluster still shows normal transmission temps, the tow haul button still functions, and the tranny is still acting normal. Sounds like a sensor glitch but I cannot track it down. The light comes on and temp gauge goes to "h" whenever the transmission gets up to normal temps now. Doesn't affect the running of my truck but it is extremely annoying. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You may have water in a connector. I would remove the connector on the passenger's side of the transmission and check for water. If it is clean and dry then you need a new trans temp sensor (TFT) and internal harness. They are dealer only, but not real expensive. Both are in the pan.
