My 90 F-150 4x4 needs new springs all the way around. It has the dual front shock package. I am thinking of putting "evener" springs on the front to level it out with the back. I am also considering putting air shocks on the back. I seldom have it uner heavy loads. Hauling (dead) deer or furniture is about all it gets. How bad will all this effect the ride. It rides really good now.
Any advice, are these good ideas, or just a bunch of
If you don't haul much in it, I wouldn't think you'd need air shocks. But then again, "need" is different from "want". If the springs on it now are worn out and mushy, new ones might make it feel a little stiffer, but will probably give you more control. The front leveler springs probably won't ride that much different than a stock type spring. If it were my truck and I used it like you describe, I would just stick with some good quality shocks and avoid the air shocks.
Funny story. I had rear air shocks on my '66 Mustang many years ago. Well, the air hose came loose and fell onto the exhaust. Let me tell you, when you loose air pressure, the back end goes "THUD".
