tuner for improved shifting
What is the favorite tuner/programmer for a 99 5.4L/4r100 Combo? Obviously any power picked up would be great but I would be looking for better shifts and maybe an mpg or two?
I know the act programmers are popular with other fords but perhaps there is a truck favorite with better parameters for this trans?

i'll sell ya the superchips i had on my '99.. PM me if you're interested. driving the truck stock after having the trans tuned felt like a mushy ball of wet paper towel, haha.

i have the old 1714 super chip tuner and i love it wwaayy better then my "custom tuned SCT". One thing is make ur own adjustments to the tuner, i feel super chip is a little soft to me so i went stock plus 4psi and my truck now shifts like it has a actual shift kit installed.

also make the WOT adjustments, go stock plus 3mph on the 1-2 and stock plus 5mph on the 2-3 and 3-4 shift. this puts the WOT shift right at 5k and it makes the truck run so much harder, i hate that junk 4500rpm shift!

Secondly all SCT devices I've ever heard of lock themselves onto the VIN of the truck they are first used on. SCT charges around $150 if I remember right to unlock a tuner for use on another vehicle.

It's true the SCT's all lock onto the VIN, I went back and read the instructions
