It's easy. Just put the key in RUN, push a probe up into the only small hole in the bottom of the column, then pull the whole lock cylinder out. The new one should already be in the RUN position with the button pressed in, so just insert it and turn it to ANY other position. That link has plenty of diagrams.
If you're talking about the ignition switch, you need a Torx driver the right size (T-25, I think) and you have to remove the lower column shroud, which requires removing the instrument cluster bezel. It's all at that link.
