Would this by chance be a well broken in and much loved engine (OLD) if so then the normal wear will allow leakage past the bearings and the oil pressure will indeed be low . best to check it with a mechanical gauge as ALBUQ F-1 is suggesting I think .
Yes, that is a pretty typical reading from the stock gauge. As noted, if you're concerned, get a good quality mechanical gauge and fit that into the system. See what it says.
So long as the pressure comes up above idle and maintains pressure with no knocks it will probably live a long time. A higher viscosity oil will possibly increase the pressure.
My stock guage reads 20lbs lighter than a mechanical guage. At idle on a cold start it shows 30 lbs but with the mechanical guage it shows 50 lbs. Don't put to much stock in the old gauges. That is after you verifed the actual pressure just peace of mind.
