internal light wont shut off

i have a 2002 ford escape... i just replace the rear door actuator as it was would not unlock the car. now i have unlocked the car to get something out the trunk closed and locked it and it wont register that the door is shut and the internal lights wont shut off.... any suggestions?

Check the glass. Some times when we close the hatch the glass moves enough to trigger the door open light and we have to slam the glass to get it to go off.
