B.E.S.T. Map

1fixitman, in a stroke of genius, came up with the idea of allowing everybody to list where they're located and what they have for troubleshooting Fords. A map was born out of this (Brotherhood of Engine Scan Tools) and 1fixitman came up with the idea to make it a link in his signature. You will see an example of this in my signature. This project has quickly grown and I took it upon myself to re-post this in a streamlined thread... with our initial hiccups bypassed.
  • If you are on the map and want off or need something changed, let us know. Many have access to edit the map right now.
  • If you have diagnostic tools and are not on the map but want on it... please list the type of tool (AE, Snap-on, etc...) and your nearest town (and the state).
  • If you want the map in your signature... open this text file [LINK] and copy the whole line to insert into your signature.
This will probably morph again, but this is the latest practice to date.

I'm glad you mentioned that again... I saw that in the other thread. This map is rather informal, but it would be nice to see the membership on the RHN grow from the interest in 1fixitman's initial thread and the B.E.S.T. map. I'm considering it, but my crazy work hours and remote location preclude me from being active in it. I can do case-by-case, though.

Jim is still around. He is a moderator of this forum. MegaWatt00

And Bob, is Guzzle, with Diesel O rings.

It usually comes up a couple times a year about people wondering about the RHN and joining and then Jim will come around and get it taken care of.

Yeah, I called Jim and he said he'd check his spam folder when he gets some time this weekend.

I think the RHN is a great resource and the exclusive nature makes me comfortable having location and contact details listed there. Due to an amazing amount of time-wasting flakes I had to remove myself from a open-access engine scanner tool database a few years ago.

Posted my general location in the recent AE location thread and while bored in an airport this morning found that Tugly had gone through the thread and added everybody who posted to his google map (I posted before he made the map). Luckily I found this only an hour after he had done it and deleted myself from the map and edited my sig and location to mitigate the risk of recurrence.

I'm happy to help out brothers in need- give a call if you are in my area of FL, contact info is on RHN.

That right there is precisely why I made a new thread... I was afraid any announcement in the old thread might fall off the reading list of those who already posted. I wanted everybody to have the opportunity to be removed. I also like the general location approach with a link on the forum. One would need to be a forum member to PM or openly request help, so this helps to minimize the crackpot invasion... and the lack of specific information all but kills the potential for abuse.
