Hi guys.....
do I have to use a proportioning block, when converting the front over to disc brakes, or can I just use a spliter (for lack of a better term), and, can I use my small drum booster with the new master cylinder?
As always, thanks for your help.

Hay Dean its Scott No calls about the Ram yet so I hope and assume Its still working fine. But yes you do need a proportioning block and If I was you I would get an adjustable proportioning block. Or at least the factory unit from a disc model. But keep in mind even the factory unit is based on stock tire height and size and is designed to limit the amount of force your back breaks get because if the back lock's up before the front it will send your truck in an skid that is uncontrollable. Also the factory unit has a large amount of extra correction built in for conditions like snow also. Which your truck is most likely not going to drive in. On a truck like yours NO snow driving and wider rear tires with more traction you can dial in more back break for a substantial reduction in stopping distance. In my experience It made a HUGE difference in my 55. this is the one I used in my truck It makes for a real clean install because it has a splitter for the front breaks and a break light switch built in to it . . all of which I needed for my 55. You should be fine with your small booster as long as it fits. But a larger booster will require less pedal pressure with your foot if you like. hears a link to the unit I used on my 55 and highly recommend for your Chevy eating 56! also Good luck bud! F&M, You probably can, but if you buy the donor and use everything from it, you or the next owner will have less problems remembering what parts fit what when they need replacing.
