Looking to buy a nice 1976 F250 Ranger XLT trailer Special and doesnt have 4x4 in it. Also that guy who own the truck and what im going to get it from him, well, have also have spare truck (rough shape and needs LOT of help!) that have F150 highboy 4x4 in it. I like to have 4x4 so Im thinking to get a spare truck and swap the 4x4 to F250? Can I swap it? Or pain in the neck to do it? I dont minded to swap it. just want to know is lot of work to swap it.
"Highboys" refer to F250's only.
The swap can be done but unless you're REALLY, REALLY good at fabrication and welding, this is a job that would be best left to someone else. 4WD and 2WD frames are different. It can and has been done many times but it is deffinitely NOT a bolt in job.
