gear swop

Ok I got a 95 f150 with the 8.8 and my friend gave me a 9" axle but the 9" has different gears then my 8.8. What I need th know is can I switch out the gears from the 8.8 in to the 9". Can use all the help I can get!

Gears do not interchange.

The housings might, but that could lead to other issues regarding brakes and vehicle speed sensors.

What gears do you have and what gears do you want?

The 9" has 2.7 gears and I need 3.55 to match Mt frount end

So, is your 8.8 functioning and does it have the 3.55s now?

Sell the 9" and buy parts for the 8.8 if need be.
