I just bought and installed a elictric fan and a universal fan wiring harness from jegs onto my 77 f150. I also bought a 2 prong toggle switch. I hooked up everything as per the instructions from the wiring harness I bought. When I turn on my toggle switch the fan doesn't turn on. I checked and I do have power to the harness from my battery side, but I don't have power going to my toggle switch or to my fan? I just noticed that I bought a 25 amp toggle switch. Should I have bought a higher amp toggle? I can jump the hot wire to the fan wire bypassing the toggle wire and the fan kicks on so what did I do wrong? I only need to have a hot wire to my toggle switch right? There is a 1 2 3 numbers on the toggle but it only has 2prongs. I'm lost and about to burnt he damn truck to the ground. Any help would e great, thanks
Franklin, yes I do have a relay, it came with the wiring harness from jegs. On the instructions that came with the wiring harness shows only 1 yellow wire going from the relay to my Ignition switch or a fan switch ( this is the wire I hooked to my toggle switch).Did I hook it up wrong? I don't want my fan to start up when I start my truck up. That's why I bought a toggle
If the ignition wire triggers the relay, and the fan comes on, then you need to take the wire from the ignition switch and run it to the toggle, and then run another wire from the other side of the toggle to the relay.
