FRONT END NOISE WHILE DRIVING.
2009 F-150 4X4 XLT. Have noise like a bearing cage coming apart. Sounds like l/front wheel area. With cruise on, noise comes and goes. Tap the brakes and noise does not always go away. At a lower speed when the 4x4 is engaged, noise goes away. Front wheel not loose, bearing appears to be ok. No diagnostic come on. Puzzled.

I have had dirt/rocks etc make similar noises on my work truck F150 ( from driving around the jobsite), maybe try going real fast in reverse (maybe 15ish?) and jump on the hooks hard. I have had it where I needed to repeat a few times to dislodge the dirt. HTH

If you have a lift kit or any modifications to the suspension system you might want to check all of the mounting nuts and bolts. Check lug nuts, drive shaft u-joints and anything you can see and lay your hands on.

Thanks for all replies. The Noise was the result of a vacuum line having a break at the actuation solenoid mounted on the right side of the radiator shroud. Used a hand vacuum pump and thru process of elimination found the leak. Made repair and set to go. Thanks again.
