The 53 looks like it has some of his signature mods. Tucked the bumpers, two toned paint, possibly a wedged hood. It's hard to tell from the side, but it looks like it may have frenched headlights.
Pretty sweet! Looks like the hood is trimmed to be more angular, and it's hard to tell from a drawing but the cab might have some angles done to it too. I always liked his work, granite he has a style that's distinctively his so it's a matter of taste, but I liked the way he went about things. I remember him once saying if you modded a car and someone came up and mentioned how well you did this and that, it wasn't a good mod because they shouldn't be able to tell what you did to change it, nothing should stick out, everything should work together to where they know it's not original, yet they can't tell how.
I can't wait to see the 53. Because it's Foose and for SEMA, I expect it will have a whole lot of subtle changes, some borrowed from his 56, like possibly the uncut top chop and moving the front wheels and wheel arches forwards. His 56 was built for a surprise for him by his father and friends from his older drawings and notes, I expect this build will be the way he would have done the 56 for himself today.
The front axle location has always bothered me, and he left this one alone. It looks like there is a little wedge in the hood, but the top really looks original. I don't think they did a lot of body mods on this one.
It may be that this truck was simply dressed up for WD-40, it just happened to be done at Foose Designs.
The only upgrades I see in the suspension are fewer springs, disk brakes, and some engine work. (heads, intake, headers, etc.)
If you look at the "before" pictures of the truck, it really didn't need anything. It looked perfect, just not totally original.
