Highboy e brake cables

Has anyone found a good replacement cable that actually fits? A couple years ago I bought a pair from LMC which no way no how we're going to work. When I called they said they hear that a lot. I ended up getting the orig worked loose but the truck I'm working on wont be a option they are bad.

You might look at Jeffs bronco graveyard...I replaced my E-brake cable on my '79 supercab (the main cable that runs from the pedal to where it splits off to each drum) and was very happy with fit and finish.

Thanks. I did look the other night and it looks like they might be a possibility but I need to get the vin number and see what makes sense.

I got a set from Green Sales in Ohio. A bit pricey, but fit nicely.

Mine are stainless and I think they might have come from Inline Tube. I know I got the front cable from Green Sales.
They fit perfectly.

What would you expect these clueless boneheads to say? LMC sells "universal" autoparts store "fitz-alls" that don't "fitz-well" at all.

I ended up getting the orig worked loose but the truck I'm working on wont be an option they are bad.
What is the exact application?

1974 F250 4WD: Regular or Crew Cab? Part time or full time 4WD? Before serial number T80,001 or from serial number T80,001?

There are three cables: Front; Right & Left rear. Which cable(s) do you want?

Betcha the boneheads at LMC didn't ask you these questions, but this info has to be known when looking up these cables in the Ford Truck Parts Catalog.

Green Sales Co. in Cincinnati OH (800-543-4959) reproduces parking brake cables. Since the staff is composed of ex-Ford partsguys, will ask you these same questions.

Serial number is the last 6 digits of the VIN

Sorry I didn't know anyone posted for some reason. I've been doing a little frame repair the past few days. As for the truck it's a '77 F250 highboy 300 6cyl 4spd truck. I meant to get the serial number the other day and keep getting distracted by other work.
I forgot to mention I need the left and right cable, the front seems fine.
Thanks

If its reasonable I'd rather buy something that fits. I'm sure ND will locate some.

You want genuine Ford? Prepare to hock the farm.

HIGH BUCK!! BOB ALLEN FORD in Overland Park KS has (3) D6TZ-2A635-J = 800-676-0675.

This snake wants mega-bucks for obsolete parts! I only list this snake if no one else has the part(s).

You think 80 bucks is expensive? "Snake" Allen will probably want two or three times this amount...each, I kid you not.
