This is a great thread! My C6 is in need of a rebuild too, and I hope to do that soon. When I bought my '72 F250, the seller lied about filling her up with ATF, and it ran a while with little to none in it. Now, even when it is full, there's too much of a delay in action when it's shifted into drive from a dead stop. I've been told that it should nearly instantly go, but for me it sits there for a good 3-5 seconds before I start moving. Same story for reverse. I can shorten the amount of time waiting for it to catch by giving it a bit of gas, but I feel like doing that only wears it out more...let me know if anything I said sounds uneducated though, I'm still in the learning process =)

First be sure to check that you have the correct fluid amount in the correct way; running, run through the gears and check in park. (Manual says while in neutral). Low fluid level can definitely change pressure and therefore shifting!

Just like Instagater said, the "O"rings and inner clutch pack seals are brittle and need replacing. Also be sure to spray some disc brake cleaner through the cooler lines and blow them out with compressed air. Kenny
