Time for some new shocks.

I need to replace the shocks on my 99 PSD and just wanted to get some opinions on which are the best quality without spending a bunch of money. My truck is not at stock height but does not have a full lift kit on it and i didnt know if that would cause problems?

I've heard great things about bilstiens, but all i know is don't go with skyjacker. The socks arent the greatest and their customer service is absolutely horrible. If money isn't a question you could do shocks and an airbag system.

I went different than most people on here. Ive been dealing a lot with Zoneoffroad. I just put there shocks, and steering stabilizer, and is driving really good. Works great even with towing. They dont have any of the special dual stabilizer, or dual/triple shock setups yet, but they stated there working on it.

What I researched and found out about this company is there the sister company to BDS, and all parts are made in the USA. That being said, thats why I gave them a shot on there parts, and so far Im very pleased with them.

And just to add a little to this, the shocks are 40 dollars a piece, so the way I looked at it, it wouldnt break the bank account if they didnt satisfy me.

I bought bilstiens a few years ago. There is nothing wrong with them, but I found that the rancho's my fx4 came stock with were much nicer, especially on bumpy crappy gravel roads.

For longevity the bilstiens have been excellent so far, but if i have to replace them, I would probably buy the rancho's.

I was given a set of Rancho 7000MT shocks as a product tester. After many months with them I have no complaints. They absorb 90% of small bumps. The only ones I feel are the large ones and unevenness of the road surface.

FWIW- the Monroe shocks that I bought at NAPA last year are already showing A LOT of rust. The ride is okay and the price was right, but I suspect that I'll be replacing these in the not too distant future.

I ran Bilsteins previously, but when those needed to be replaced, went with Fox Ford Shocks | FOX.

Also like Doetsch Off Road Truck Racing and Automative Suspension Lift and Lowering Kits

They are pricey, but they perform great and are completely rebuildable. No need for the dual set ups on the fronts, and in my honest opinion, the reservoir shocks are a waste of money for our trucks. Made in the USA, right down in Southern California. Been running this set of Fox's on my truck for 5 years now and I tow heavy, and beat my truck up in the sand and offroad. After 5 years, no problems, just recently noticed one of my rears is starting to leak a little, so they will be coming off and going in for a rebuild around $50 each.

Buy any decent quality shock and change them out with each set of tires. There is no reason to spend a bunch of money on shocks. They are all shot after 30-50k.
