Folks, was torquing the intake manifold bolts this AM(after gasket replacement) and the bolt(first one) on the driver side stripped out at 25 ft/lb's. I tried another bolt and it does not want to torque down. I am a little scared/aggravated right now. Please tell me there is a fix at this point without tearing everything back down!
Thanks in Advance.
Did the bolt strp or the bolt hole? If the bolt striped, clean out the holes and replace the bolts. If the hole striped, a Heli coil maybe the answer. But I would run a bottom tap down all the other bolt holes before putting in a bolt.

I agree with this. Step back, take a breath...thread repair is a slow gentle process. Go to the AutoParts store and get a helicoil kit. Not fun but your other option is tow it to a garage that will do the same repair.
I got an 1/2 longer bolt to see if there were some better threads further down, and there were! Just put 2 washers on and torqued down!!! just took truck for a road test NO LEAKS!! Will these 352 idle like butter? I have tried to get mine smooth but the gear shifter always has a slight shale to it..?
