New tires!

Got new shoes for the Ex today! 265 75 16 Destination ATs. Difference is amazing! Rides like I got new shocks. Needed a little alignment as I hit a pothole the night we brought her home. But nice and quiet and rides amazing!!!

Wow, it made that big of a difference? High praise, indeed.

Pardon my ignorance, but which brand is that? (Assuming destination is a model name....)

Thanks Bronco,
Karl

Firestone. Bear in mind my other tires were pretty shot, but I was pleased with these tires on my trailblazer. Very smooth....

Thanks bro. A number of people have spoken highly of Firsetone. Gotcha on the worn out angle!

Take care,
Karl

I guess they overcame the tarnished name they had a while back. It's hard to keep a big outfit like that down.

I'm going with TreadWright Guard Dogs 265/75/16 (D) soon. I'll let you all know how they do. Everyone I know running them loves them and will not buy anything else. Especially off-road nuts...

Those Destinations are great tires. At work we put a set on a F350 dually we have and they work great. We frequently run them in the sand and they provide plenty of traction.

Nicmike- I had never heard of treadWright however the tread pattern on those tires looks very similar to the Goodyear Wrangler M/T. Is there a connection between the two?

Yep. Very similar tread pattern. TreadWright makes high end re-treads in South Dakota, and has been in business for several decades (if not 50 years). They have a VERY large and loyal customer base...mostly off-roaders. I'm buying them for a second set of rims that I will use when we go camping, hunting and riding in the woods. Compare them to the Wrangler prices. Guard Dogs $111....Wranglers $230 and up.

Why are you getting a Load Range D on a 7k pound truck?

Because they will only be for off-road use. No towing with them. I have my load range E highway tires for that.

For an all off-road application that sounds awesome for only $111 bucks. I know those Good Year Wranglers are rediculous expensive but if you can get a similar product for over half price that is outstanding!
