Steering Box ?????
I am going to call it the steering box????? On my 93 Flareside left a trail of steering fluid all the way home from work last night. It is leaking at the very bottom of this box and I am trying to decide whether I want to break this thing open myself or not. Any suggestions or can you tell me if there is a seal at this base. Forgive me for my stupidity about this.

It's sounds like the seal is shot at the bottom of your box where the pitman arm bolts on. Mine is the same way and the guys at Advanced Auto say that they don't make a rebuild kit for those years of ford trucks so you have to buy the whole box. They priced me out one for a 93 f-150 for $165.99 and it has a lifetime warranty so if it ever has the same problem you get a new one for free.

Steering Box ?????
My 91 is leaking from the bottom seal. I purchased a kit and the The first step of the instructions says "secure the gear in a soft-jawed vise". This kinda sounds like I have to remove the whole thing from the truck before beginning step 1. I thought I could replace the seal without removing the box from the truck. What am I missing here?
I asked for the lower seal and they sold me this power steering repair kit. Did they give me the right thing?
