I guys,I need your help to buy a front mount receiver .
My truck is a Ford F250 extended cab,4 x 4, Diesel,Xlt Lariat of 1991 .
As I am oversea (France) I wouldn't make a mistake when ordering .
If someone knows a little about and could help ?[/IMG]
There may not actually be one available for that configuration... Front Mount receivers (hitches) are more of a new thing.
One place to look is etrailer, they have a pretty easy to use hitch selector. However, they don't list one for 1991 F250's. They do have one for 1992 F250's... I'm not sure what changed between 91 and 92, but want to say that the very front of the frame may have been changed (like adding a crumple zone or something?) I have 3 F250's in my yard, but they're all 90 and older so I can't say, hopefully someone with a newer one can chime in on this. You may be able to use one of the newer ones with some modifications to either the hitch or the truck frame. I do know that you won't be able to use either of the 2wd models as they mount to the bottom of the frame right where the leaf springs attach on a 4wd (at least not without some big modifications... as thats what I have on my truck... and its quite modified)
If your talking Heavy Duty as in a F250 HD model those didnt exist for that generation, for some newer trucks (want to say late 90s but could be wrong) Ford decided to have 2 versions of the 3/4 ton trucks, the Heavy duty versions were the traditional 3/4's and the non heavy duty were between a regular 1/2 and 3/4 ton truck.
