I am looking at buying a 51 ford F5 dump.
It has the old split rims on the truck now.
I would really like to find those alcoa 19.5 wheels or even a steel wheels that are not split rims.
This would be my first f5 so let me know what ends and outs there are to wheels.
Thanks for your time
Harmon
Welcome to the group. Glad to have you, and glad to see another big truck being saved.
Alcoas!!?? Wow, you aim high! The only vehicle I know of that wears a set of them is a high end custom called the Undertaker. I won't call it a rat rod because it's much too nicely done to use that term. He has four Alcoas on it. The only others that I know of are two that I have stashed away waiting for a couple/three more to show their faces. Our friend Bob Jones and I swapped notes about, then passed on, a pair on eBay a few years ago. I kick myself for that.
Steel motor home 19.5s are a good solution. Rather than me rattle on about them I'd suggest you do a Google search of my user name and the "Budd 89340" description. You'll find a lot said about them. I sometimes find them on yard searches but haven't had luck for a few months. I know of a set in Dallas on CL, and a set in Atlanta. I think too there is a partial set in Denver on CL. You being in Iowa you might try doing your own yard seaches. The other good solution is a set of tubeless 22.5s. Don't know of any available right now, unless one of the others speaks up about some they know of.
I talked to one gentleman about a set listed in the Dallas CL. They sold two weeks ago. Might be a different set, these were in the Duncanville area. Good luck with it.
It looks like Stockton wheel is saying they do what ever "we" want with wheels now. Has anyone talked to them?
The following is in their Heavy Duty/Military section
Hummer & Power Wagon 24 Series
These custom heavy duty "military" style wheels will put you at the front of the squadron. We can build your custom wheel in 15, 16, 16.5, 17, 19.5, 20, 22.5, 24.5- inch sizes. Any bolt circle, any offset or any width, painted or chromed
The only input I've heard is from our member Ken who has the F-350 M-H. He bought two of their 19.5s and hates them. If I'm right they have flat centers rather than dished centers which doesn't work for a DRW set up. Plus to hear Ken they got the offset wrong on his. Stu

I would think that one would want to specify those parameters before ordering. Dual wheels are pretty common as are specific offsets etc....
I went to the local junk yard here that specializes in old military trucks.
I was lucky and got 4 rims to replace my widow makers for 100 each.
With the new tires and tubes and rims it cost more than the truck itself.
One of my front rims is red as it came off an old firetruck!
Welcome!
