Working underhood helper

Hey Guy's,

I don't consider myself short (just at 6') but eventhough working underhood on my highboy can be a pain in the a$$, I even broke the fan shroud during the hydroboost conversion, then I saw this at Lowes

Werner Aluminum Portable Work Platform

Aluminum Portable Work Platform
  • Provides a non-skid area for standing
  • Multi-use platform
  • 225lbs. load capacity (I'm bigger then that and still feel sturdy on it)
  • Non-marring feet
Best $45 I ever spent!

Awesome, It looks like it will fold up nicely and slip in behind a standard cab's seat..... or a bed tool box if you have a High Boy... or a SC.

Great idea +to reps.

When you say hydroboost I assume you mean the ps brake upgrade?

I'm gonna have to fab one of those.... I'm 5'5" and on 35-inch tires with a 4-inch lift amd basically have to crawl into my seat.... and my driveway is totally retarded with a 20 percent slope so a platform won't work.

These things are great. They always go on sale for 21.99 a couple times a year. Xmas is when they always go on sale.

How well does that hydro system work? My brakes are mushy due to high lope and less vacume so I was looking In to that. Do you have pics and where did you buy it?

I get by with a plastic milk crate, courtesy of my local grocery store , but those work platforms are nice.

System works great, I did the rear disk conversion and integral steering at the same time. Totally glad I did it, even with all the issue getting it in place.

I plan on doing a write-up with pics, soon (especially now that the weather is changing)

I cannot recommend the well know steering place I bought my “system” from. I did not get all the pieces as we discussed. I also told them I was looking for a complete bolt in kit, since I needed to do it in my driveway with basic hand tools, what I got was very generic pieces, it took me an additional month to fabricate and track down the remaining items. I received no customer service when calling back and then finally after getting it all together their saginaw power steering pump crapped out on me on day 2.
