Actually, it looks kinda cool. Since you already have the hood painted why not just add these trim pieces and drive it that way for a while? At least with the trim pieces on people will stop asking what those holes are for....
I think it looks good, too. You could also look into getting some custom aluminum billet ones made with black mesh over the holes. It would be unique looking. Just a thought...

Right, came standard on 750's. Ford's official reason: " reduces hot air pockets under the hood and allows engine to draw cooler air into the carburetor for more efficient operation". Why not just leave it on and grind off "750".
