I know it's often done with the earlier F100 - 60's era - but I've never heard of someone doing such a swap with a more "modern" F150. I would think the body is too wide, but that's just a guess.
It is not going to be a simple bolt on swap as noted by others. Using factory MII parts is going to seriously degrade any loadi carrying and stopping ability. There are fabricators who make MII-based IFS systems that could probably supply you with the basic parts to attempt this project. One of the better known shops is Fatman Fabrications. Take a look here: ..::FatmanFabrications::..
They have a section in their catalog for basic kits based on the frame width and other items: ..::FatmanFabrications::..
Give Brent a call, I'm sure they can set you up with something or tell you why one of their kits may not work.
The frame distance on a crown Vic is the same, was thinking of doing it if I was to convert to 2x4 and a mod motor, just have to add some square tubing to the top of the frame. Think it's 54in
Thanks guys. I'm not looking to haul anything in this truck.
Plans are mustang 2 suspension or crown Vic. I have a 32 valve
4.6 that going in. Just going for a fun truck, not crazy fast or anything
Just fun.
