New Batteries Installed.
Checked charging system. 13.4-13.8 while driving. Passenger side battery 10.2 Driver side 11.8. Decided its's time for batteries. Ended up picking up 2 batteries @ local parts store. 1035 CCA @ 32. 875 CCA @ 0. These are East Penn batteries made in the USA. Good write up so I bought them.
All I can say is, WOW, what a difference! First notice upon startup. Truck ran quiet! I mean you couldn't hardly hear the truck run and no injector knock.
I'm thinking with those low batteries it was effecting FICM and how my injectors were operating.
Upon driving. Truck even drives and shifts different. Throttle response seems better. Maybe it's just me. But, overall truck is performing very well since the new batteries.
Has any one else noticed these type of changes after installing new batteries?
Charging system checked out @ 13.9 while running. Passenger side 13.9 volts. Drivers side 13.9 volts. A big difference from when I checked last week!
A good idea would be not to wait when battery issues start appearing as some have stated here.
