Chevy seats in 78 supercab?

I'm looking to get some bucket seats for my 78 and was wondering what seats fit. I've been told up to 1994 seats will be a direct bolt in, problem is I don't want to buy them if I don't have too. My other truck is an 87 with a bench seat so that's not going to work and my sister has a 95 f150 extended cab she is getting rid of and said I might be able to get them out of there.

There is an early 2000's chevy venture sitting in the yard about to get scraped so I was curious about using the front bucket seats and possibly the very back seat for the rear seat in my supercab or at least temorarily until I get something else so would those work? If so how much fabrication would need to be done if anyone knows?

Any other suggestions or seats or any links to related information. I did a quick search but never can seem to find anything that helps too much on any forum when I use the search function.

if your talking individual bucket seats there will be drilling since there is only two outside tracks on the original bench you would have to locate and drill holes for the additional track mounts on the buckets weld in studs etc. then there is the seat belt geometry the belts might not secure you properly.a modern split bench with headrests seems to be the usual choice for upgrading if the 95 seats are powered there is the added trouble of wiring them in.and i believe venture seats are lock in type without a bolt in style mount so alot of fab including transfering the floor loops that the van seats mount into.

Is this what you mean by split bench seat? This is what I have in it already. I can't remember if it is two brackets, one on each end or two in the middle as well and I won't be able to check until the 18th.

If you want buckets, stick with some that are non power. Power buckets add a lot of height, and will require more fabrication. I think certain later model Ford bench seats will bolt in with little modification, just swap tracks.

I have 06 f150 buckets and jumpseat in mine. Because of the height I had to remove the sliding assembly off the bottom and make some custom mounts. Even after that they still sit a little high, So I ended up reshaping the actual seat foam and reupholstering. Depending on what you choose, it can be a pain.

Procar makes aftermarket seats that would probably fit well. Procar Sport Seats - SummitRacing.com

I just rebolted my split bench in this weekend. It only has mounts on the ends, none in the middle. I've always heard that through '96 is a direct swap except for 60/40 or buckets that will have to be drilled for the center mounts.

I may end up going with a split bench I guess. I'm looking for bucket seats so I can make a center console that has storage and cup holders haha, I don't want all my stuff rolling around the back seat anymore. So if I bought a bronco or f150 with bucked seats do you think that the bench seat in my truck would bolt into that if I did a swap?

CRSWEET: I've been watching your interior builds, very nice work.
