so im kinda in a predicament and don't know what to do i got a 77 bronco with a 302. i bought the vehicle with some problems and im slowly fixing them. my biggest crises is the engine it runs but..... i want to go with a newer 302 with a computer fuel injection system. the only thing is it has to match up with my current c4 trans. everything else is in great shape im just at a stand still and don't know what to do. i also want it to have cruise control and like i said computer fuel injected. im primarily looking to just keep it on the street 90% but i do want the option to take it off road 10%. i have thought about a 351w but the thing is i don't know what years i could match everything up any suggestions?

Reason: trans
my understanding is it will bolt right up to that tranny, the rest - I'm not sure (tv cable, converter, etc). I'd try to stick w/the C4 tho, many reasons.
Welcome to the forum and site!
"...what year..."
not as important as "from what vehicle?"
There R hood clearence problems w/the efi 302s (5.0s) in a bronk.
1 inch body lift helps or - if no 1 shows up here w/answers- check out the top EB site "CB"... they have ALL sortsa threads on it.
Hey guy I'm New to FTE, well anyway i got a 73 bronc, i've had 16 yrs. My suggestion to u a good rebuild of 302 is worth it, with a beefy carb. The 351 is hassle, real hassle, i helped a friend drop one in his 75 bronc, cross member, etc etc, hassle, but he's happy, the man thing right.
Hey Guy, Well my buuddies bronc w/351, c4 also, simple but effective. My puppy, basic set up, 3 1/2 lift, 2in body, with 33s, broke rear axle w/28 spline, went to 31 spline. rebuild my 302 bout 10 yrs ago, just put new timing chain last week. Toms bronco and Wild Horses has been good to me over yrs. shipping kills me, being in Hawaii, hey funds available rebuild, LOL
To answer the original question, just get a 5.0 engine from any '85-'93 mustang ('95-'96 mustangs will work too, they just have a different upper intake) or car (crown vic, T-bird, cougar, lincoln town car, etc.), or a '96 explorer. Any 5.0 or 351 will bolt right to your C4. Avoid the truck engines because the upper intake is too tall (you would need a huge body lift and possibly a hood scoop too). For the truck 351 EFI you can get an adapter to run a car 302 upper intake so that it will fit under the stock hood. Here's some info on EFI...
