I see an AC fitting above where the oil filler tube curls back towards the engine. Is this the only low side fitting? The air cleaner hoses have to be off to charge the system with the engine running? I expected to see somthing by the receiver/dryer on the passenger fender. I see a high side fitting by the radiator cap.
Mine's on the passenger side near the drier, I've never seen one where both high and low are on the same side and why would the air cleaner hoses have to be off?
I just realized this van was delivered with R-12. I don't see a retrofit decal so I have some work to do confirming what's in there. If these are R-134a fittings, which they must be since they're not threaded, they were installed as part of a comprehensive conversion because they're not the kind that fit over and destroy R-12 fittings.
Here are some pictures of the engine bay:

I can't reach the fitting without removing the hoses that lead from the air cleaner to the throttle body. I suppose I can reattach the hoses once the guage set is hooked up. I can't imagine that's where Ford originally put the fitting.
Where's the suction side fitting in your van?
