2003 F250 7.3 Door lock issues

hello all,
I need you help. I am having power door lock issues. The drivers side lock switch doesnt work at all. The passenger lock switch unlocks all doors but will not lock them. And the key fob will not lock or unlock anything. Along with that when all doors are closed and the ignition is turned on all the doors are supposed to lock and vise versa and none of that works either. I have checked all fuses and ford alarm settings . HELP! Is it a VSM issue?

Take a look behind the fuse panel @ your GEM - see if it shows signs of getting wet. (growing green/white stuff) Weird electrical symptoms usually equal GEM problems but not always - it's an easy check to at least rule it out.

It could be a lock switch issue. Back when i first got my truck if i walked more than 10 feet away. i tried to lock it when i had my door panels off i closed the door with the switches unplugged and tried locking the truck from my key fob. They didn't lock until i plugged the switched back in. Just food for thought if you can figure it out also i have an 04 so it is the same electrical system.

no signs off getting wet. I live in Las Vegas so not to much of that wet stuff here. And what lock switch issue ? And what do you mean by lock switch?

The GEM is a module that controls most of the electrical accessories & gauge cluster - they are usually reliable but when they go the symptoms can be all over the place. Even though you're in Vegas I'd still at least take a look - we had a truck that the Gem wiring loom had been "knawed on" by critters liv'n in the dash. That truck had the dome light come on randomly & occasionally unlock itself.... go figure.

The actual lock/unlock switch on the doors for some reason if one is unplugged the locks don't work. It may be s connection with the drivers side switch.

if the drivers side switch is bad would it make the passenger lock switch only unlock the doors and not be able to lock?

I'm not sure I have not tried I only noticed it with the key fob. I can try in the morning. Im not an electrical engineer but if only some connections are bad then only the unlock feature may work, im not sure to be honest.

i read somewhere that they are hooked together in sequence but not sure it is true. I will look more tomorrow. I just hate having to take it to the deler to have them figure it out. The Ford place here in Hendrson is actually really reputable nd I trust them somewhat as they have worked on all 3 of our fords and we actually bought all 3 there. They are just $$$$. Thanks for the help. If you think of anythiing else I am all ears. Thanks!
