Fuel pressure

Any one knows what the fuel pressure should be? I have 6 lbs when key is turned to on, and 28 at idle. I have a hot starting problem on a 96 with the 4.0 engine. I have replaced the crank sensor, temp sensor on the thermo housing, and the relay in the power distributrion box. Now testing for the fuel pump.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim

mine was at 38psi and periodically would drop less, once i got driving for awhile it miss and spit some. Replaced fuel pump never had a problem since. You didnt mention how old the fuel filter was. THat can cause pressure problems if clogged.

Before you change the pump, check the FPR, it may be leaking.... Philip

Thanks for the reply, at 160,000 miles Its probably on borrowed time as it is. I did check pressure when it was in its no start after hot symptom and the pressure did not raise over 10 while cranking.
