After learning a lot through lurking, I have finally registered and I have a question about my new truck.
I've had my 2012 F250 Lariat Scab long bed for five days. I love the truck but have noticed a problem. The left rear suspension is about 0.5 in. lower than the right side. I measured from the same point on each side of the frame to the ground on a level cement floor.
The dealer took look at it and confirmed my measurements and said it is within spec. They showed me a chart from Ford that says the suspension can be + or - 0.98 in. It doesn't specify if that can be for just one side or if it's for both sides simultaneously. The dealer said that one or the other can be out that much.
Should I be concerned about this? Should I pursue it further?
I will be installing air bags eventually so it would be easily corrected that way. Still, I feel a little uneasy about the situation.
I commend your amazing attention to detail. Most anything manufactured ever has tolerances, whether it be .05” on your truck, or in my line of work +/- .012”. Point is... unless it is terribly visually displeasing to you or your truck is not tracking correctly, I would go with Ford’s tolerances.

Thanks. Judging by the number of views vs replies, I would say this isn't a shocking problem. I guess I'll just get used to it.
This has come up a few times here, and i cant remember what people said... but remember the gas tank (and if its a diesel, DEF tank also) on the left frame rail, so that adds some weight.

The problem is in the suspension, but I guess a full gas tank (it is a gasser) could make it worse. Good thing I'm not a big guy.
I'm thinking I might have my indy mechanic check the alignment just for piece of mind.
I know it is common for the older ones to settle on the drivers side because of the fuel tank and the weight of the driver..that in turn raises the front passenger side
