I tried a search about this but am just going in circles. A few weeks ago i replaced the water pump and hoses. It was leaking out the bottom. The new pump is fine, but today I have a coolant leak from somewhere below the drivers side head, towards the front. Could that be the block heater? What is involved in fixing it? Or is there something else I should be looking at?
There are 2 small lines in the area that is leaking. I didn't have a light when I looked earlier and now it is raining. If I am not mistaken I think the lines turned toward the back. I didn't see where they went. Are they to the oil cooler?
The oil cooler is a large tube, about 2.5-3" diameter that runs from the front to the back. I'm trying to think of lines that are in that area...only thing I can think of is the fuel lines right now.
Well it seems like I did not pay attention to what I was looking at. When the water pump went bad I dumped all the coolant and put in new. I had this big container of greenish old coolant. When I looked for my leak I saw the same greenish drip and thought it was coolant. Today it stopped raining so I went under the truck and sprayed it down with some cleaner. After it dried off I started it up and it was still dripping green in the front off the larger of the 2 fuel lines. But I put my hand under it and then smelled it. Diesel fuel. It is coming from the joint in the line, I assume it is the supply line since it is bigger. So what is the deal with this? New line? Are there any seals in the joint?
