97psd already got the pedastal done and installed, what about the tube from the passenger side front to th sensor near the rear of the HPOP res. Can I just cap the manifold and remove the tube since the system is disabled/ Would this only set soft codes?
I'm not disputing you Mike but I've read it both ways. One way it doesn't matter and the other the PCM takes a reading off of it for fueling. IDK!!! I cleaned my tube out and left it on. Maybe that's why I get lousy mileage, LOL!
Glenn I've cleaned mine, changed sensor, ran with it unplugged and I seem no difference in the way it ran or mpg's
With the Cali if you unplug it it will set a cel
The sensors only purpose is to give the PCM backpressure feedback to control the valve.
The tuning guys have confirmed this with me that there are no tuning features that rely on back pressure readings from that sensor.
