3.0 Taurus Vulcan
I was trying to get a family members car to start after it just quit running.
Upon inspection of possible causes, I planned to check for spark.
I removed the easiest to get to sparkplug and the electrode came out with
the wire(stuck in the boot).
Anyway, after many other tests I decided to have the car towed to a shop
- I did not want to spend money to buy a fuel pressure gauge-
I called the shop today to see what they came up with.
NO spark - THIS I KNOW
NO fuel pressure.
They were not able to test the PCM so far, but the person I talked to
was saying the PCM may be dead.
ARE THERE OBDII scanners that can partially detect a failed PCM?
I have a basic scanner at the moment and I would like one that can
at least detect a dead or dying PCM/ECM.
Then, parts of it can go bad. It can give a code, you check everything out including the wiring, and it all checks good, then the PCM is the last suspect.
