He prob got tired of waiting and having nothing to sell...
I wouldn't blame him there, although last we talked to him I thought he had the tunes there on a laptop and just burned them to a chip himself. Getting new tunes for different mods and such, could be a problem though, I suppose. Maybe the Beans tune thread inspired him to make the change! lol.
Fairly recent I think. Not my area to really say why, but Aaron may have had a pretty close guess...
I ordered a beans chip from Jim the other day for the SD I'm working on. Thinking of getting some beans tunes myself. Gonna see how this truck runs when I'm done first.

Jim mentioned the Beans tunes to me a couple weeks ago when I met him to pick up the D60.
Not going to check compression? Im curious to make sure once and for all if you have base engine issue....or then injectors. It would suck to do inj then do an engine also.but a new motor with injectors would be real nice! Just depends on your budjet...me personally...i would have to watch it real close cause im broke!
Well I'd like to but I don't have a compression tester and I need the truck soon and if it had serious engine trouble it would have lots of blow by wouldn't it? Or not run right if it was one cylinder specifically?
I recall speaking with someone about severe oil consumption, that must have been you. But I don't recall you mentioning swapping out the motor.
I hate threads like this. A compression test will tell you a lot about the motor. Spend the $80 and buy a tester to save swapping a motor for no reason. These dang motors are very strong and can last a long time.
And when you do need to replace them shop around. I've sold several good long blocks in the $300 - $400 range after 6 months of trying just because there are soooo many out there for sale, the market is flooded with them. If you paid $2400 for a motor, that's insane. Granted it's supposed to have low miles, but if you didn't take it from the truck yourself, you really don't know how many miles it has.
If compression numbers are good then spring for an injector rebuild, (or new, still waaaay less than the cost of a replacement motor) and see how she runs. You can replace a lot of parts on the motor for $2400 if the compression is good.
FWIW I still sell PHP tunes, personally I LOVE Bill's tunes! I was approached by BDP to sell theirs too, and yes they are much more responsive to getting me tunes that I don't already have access to from PHP. 2 very different options, from 2 very different tuners. Also, PHP has some new cool stuff coming out that I can't wait to get my hands on.
