ever since i got my 1997 f150 4.6l v8 i never like the way the exhaust exited right in front of the rear tire. so this afternoon i when and cut the exhaust off right after the thrush glass pack that i put on. now i was mainly getting ride of the way the exhaust exited but i also gained a little better deeper sound in my opinion. doesn't seem like that 3 foot of pipe i cut off would make much of a difference but i think it did.
tell me what you think. (sorry about the bad camera work it was off my phone. all you really need to do is hear it.)
You will get a deeper rumble with the exhaust exiting under the truck from the sound being trapped between the truck and ground. But, that also means that the exhaust fumes can be trapped under the truck as well and can enter the cab area.
i havent had any problems with fumes yet. it exits way much under the box so its not that close to the cab. has to be better then when i first got the truck and the exhaust leaked right under the drivers seat. felt like i was going to pass out every time i drove it it was so bad
Ya i probably will. But i might Change the muffler first to a cheap flowmaster. I just get to thinking about my exhaust yesterday and thought I would try and cut it off and see how.i liked it.
Some add a wireless dump with a turn down then the muffler, for the recreational aspect of the exhaust fun. You can open it to the degree you like to listen to in the countrysides. LOL
The electric dump gate may not add to power, but it adds to off road experiences. There just is nothing like a good sounding in the dirt in your face truck. Godspeed Gen II has a wild ride set up for you with wireless remote operation. LOL
