I now understand what my Father-In law was concerned about. Getting onto the freeway and merging it held 5th all the way up to 68 MPH then it was like the tranny was trying to decide if we were going to keep accelerating. It shifted to 6th and I set the cruise at 62 MPH and it stayed in 6th.
On two lane roads it would shift to 6th at 45 MPH and stay in 6th until a big hill and it would drop to 5th.
The shifting logic is really advanced, especially compared to what he had in his 1994 F-250 or my 2001 F-550.
Thanks for the suggestions and feedback.
Is there a video explaining the 6 speed tranny and tow haul? It makes it easier to sit my Father-In law down and get him to watch a video that explains what is going on.
