Well I picked up the truck yesterday and headed straight home to hook up the trailer. First order of business was to load up my sister's car that was totaled in an accident a week or two ago.
The truck rides a TON smoother than it did with the old tires. It doesn't have quite as aggressive a stance though. Even my wife noticed it. She said "they look too small for your truck" and I agree to some extent, even though these tires are the same width and a little taller than the old ones were. I think it is just a matter of the proportions. These are 17s and the old ones were 16s so there looks like there is a little less tire under the truck, because there is more wheel there.
The truck feels completely different on the road now though. Rides smoother, seems a little more planted, and is definitely a TON quieter. Those old meats were noisy! These tires make a barely audible hum that can only really be heard when you're off the throttle and decelerating. So far I am really impressed. Here is what they look like.
I am impressed so far. I can't wait to see how they do in the rain and snow. Although I am in no hurry for the latter....
Hah! I see now that Nitto Tire has an advert at the top of this forum page for you to fil out the application to test these tires! Do it guys! I don't get any kind of kickback for saying it, but hey, free tires are free tires, right!?
You lucky dog Nate. I'll definitely be filling this out. I need tired before the winter and with buying a new house, all my pennies are accounted for. Diesel might be going up, but thank the good lord my bud heavies are still the same price!
