zunijoe - if that is indeed what you are looking for, yours should be nestled all snug and cozy under the intake manifold. Hard to see and probably a pain to get in and out - be careful you don't go tugging on any hoses though, if yours is like mine they'll just turn to dust on you...

I think you have answered my question...the small (1/4" top port) on the PCV should be plugged. This problem came up without any warning so I tried to start from basics. After checking the exhaust for blockage, replacing the fuel and air filters, I replaced the PCV valve. The top port on the old PCV was open (no plug) and there wasn't an available line to connect. Those plugs are hard to install and, I would assume, even harder for the engine to spit out. I didn't want to change something that wasn't broken while I tried to find out what was wrong.

Anyway, thanks for your time. I will, eventually, post the results.

Problem solved. The PCV valve needed the small port plugged. What happened to the old plug is still a mystery to me. My problem was the MAP sensor shorted out. Replaced and the truck runs better than it has in several years.
